Register To Vote

You may register to vote at any time. However, to vote in a primary or general election, you must be registered at least 29 days before that election (October 7, 2024). A mail-in voter registration application must be postmarked at least 29 days before that election (October 7, 2024). What You Need To Register

Eligibility And Documentation For Registering To Vote:

  • Have a valid Indiana Driver's License or Indiana State Identification Card.
  • Be a citizen of the United States.
  • Be at least 18 years old on or before the next general, municipal or special election. (A 17-year-old may register and vote in the primary election if the voter turns 18 on or before the next general or municipal election.)
  • Have lived in your precinct for at least 30 DAYS before the next general, municipal, or special election.
  • Not currently imprisoned after being convicted of a crime.

Register Online

You can register online now, as well as verify or update your registration if you have moved, and find your polling location by visiting the Indiana Voters Website.

Register By Mail

To register to vote by mail please download, print and complete the Indiana Voter Registration Application and mail it to us, along with a copy of your valid Indiana Drivers License or State ID, to Elections & Registration Office, 155 Franklin St., Valparaiso, IN 46383.

Register In Person

You can visit our office to register in person. We are open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm, excluding holidays. We are located at 155 Franklin St., Valparaiso, IN 46383.

Register At The BMV

If you are an Indiana resident, you may register or get an application to register to vote at any Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles branch when processing any type of transaction.
